Back to Thursday Island on Thursday.
Left tools up on Thursday Island  when I was last there,so went to markets and health shop on weekend and made a banana box full of awesome food. The food up there is very plain and a bit expensive.
SPANISH MACKEREL!
Tried Jame's trick for carry on bag, you just gota make it look light which is easy for him being 6'4", but it must of worked cause my 12kg bag got through unnoticed.

Bait fish are on Horn Island  because of a change in wind direction, so it is now  easier to go fishing, buy a few hooks today. And try catch some. Two Queen fish first trip, 1 Travelly second trip, Barracuda third trip, lots of fish to eat. lots of hook ups too, but it's hard to land them on a hand line from a wharf, until this Mackerel came along, must if been what was snapping our lines, hard work but dragged it around to the rocks to get it in. Yum!

Yeah its not all exploring and fishing, I do some work sometimes.

3 air cons in a row.
Jobs going a bit smoother this time, must be getting used to the heat, plus they say summer is finished so mite of cooled down but it's hard to tell up here in the tropics.
There was two jack Russell pups at job today, so cute, two boys barely a week old, mum and big sister taking good care of them and being good guard dogs. Was so tempted to put one or both in my lunch bag to take home.

Fixed the crayfish packing shed Air con so hopefully I get a box of crays to take home when I leave.
Leaving on Friday now, rushing back to Cairns with everything, two big tool bags, plus carry on bag and lunch bag, supposed to be starting a big job replacing Air cons at a school. 3months work they say. I hope so, for the money, but my feet are getting itchy, and the tracks are drying out.
Bye Cairns
Hello T.I, Prince of Whales Island.
Horn Island, that's the whole town.
Clouds of bait fish.
Tap water, hopefully it's a bit less brown tomorrow.

Tourists tried telling me there are no snakes on Torres Straight.Island, I laughed, here's a 3m python skin.

Riding on the bus, (ferry to horn Island)
Who says public transport sux.

Apparently the Island needed a boat load of dirt, guess there are limited amounts when you live on an island.
2 queenfish, & the bait.
Lunchtime!
Cleaned & ready to cook.
Worked overtime and had to catch the last boat home, what a terrible idea.
Finished in time to catch the sunset from Thursday Island.
Badu Island in the distance.
This is a traditional Torres straight 'boat trap' also known as a boat trailer, baited and set under the high tide line, after a few days you may catch a boat, hopefully it's a healthy one with a big motor.
Smoko time !
Pan size Travelly.
Late start, walking to ferry on Horn island.
More bait fish.
Two Jack Russell brothers barely a week old.

Nice view on job today.
Found this guy next to the cool wet Aircon pipes.
Another queen fish, yum.
He got one, looks like a healthy one too! Better pull it out before it gets away.
View from lions lookout.
Lions lookout.
Climbed onto the roof at lions lookout.
Nice spot for lunch break.

Needs no caption.

This yacht is on it's way across the gulf, tempted to go with them.
Still sun setting.

Life size portrait of Ned Kelly
I've installed a lot of Aircons, this is number 100 on T.I, the last one, and only one sensible spot for it, in front of the cold air from the old one that still works.
Redy to fly out.
